Magical Strings West was founded in 2011 to provide opportunities for committed young violinists to develop their musical skills within the framework of a top-level performance group. Magical Strings West is a California non-profit public benefit organization that offers young violinists the opportunity to participate in performances for the community, on their own merits as well as in collaboration with master teachers and guest artists.
The children, regardless of their age or their level of proficiency, are encouraged to aspire to, cultivate and take pride in professionalism in their art. They develop confidence and leadership skills while providing service to the community.
Magical Strings West students have performed in many public and private events and are available to enchant audiences at private parties, community festivals, weddings, fundraisers and office events.
Musical Director Sue Mann has taught violin and directed violin performance groups for 30+ years, in Germany, Chicago (at the Betty Haag Academy of Music), and since 2010 in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently teaches in her private studio in Palo Alto.
